My Mustang Turbo Idea

can i basically take any turbo and make it work for my mustang. I was ebay shopping and i was looking at some t3 ball bearing turbos by precision. I know precision is a good company thats not what im worried about i am wondering if i get hte proper fiuttings if it will work. I was wondering where can i get some 3.8l turbo manifolds for my 2000 mustang? any body know

Turbo would definitly provide some good bang for the buck, but it is also a bit more difficult than simply bolting on a supercharger.

i recommend you hit the V6 links and check out a couple of the sites that deal with turbo's for the mustang...

if your goin to do a t3 get two of them. That is a relatively small turbo. It is known as the economy turbo. It is good for up to 20 psi, but anything past that then you need a bigger turbo. Are you looking for single turbo set up or twin turbo?

anyway...as far as your main question

yes...the turbo is not the big concern in installing turbo nor is it the expensive part. mostly any turbo will fit but its all about its position and piping
ive looked online as well and you can get 2 turbos for $800....just the turbos though, no piping or turbo headers.
turbo headers is also another hard part cuz they dont really sell that part to many places and converting shorty headers would take a lot of precision and the knowledge of know what your doing

turbo instalation is not easy point blank

well nooo you can't

not just any trubo will work ... you wont one that is the right size... or else you won't get the expected results...

they will work but some won't put out enought power and some might spool up to late or to soon and not do anything at all...

ask a professional at an online dealer for a recomended size... incloding the A/R for the intake and exhaust... or you might be able to find it on here.... ik we have talked about it before

absolutly boring, but a saw a deer on the side of the road (dead) looked like it was split in half nasty

TMA turbos are alot...but they seem well worth it, and its bolt on, cant beat that...

those arent his own turbos. What Andy does is completely build the kit once you order it. Those prices for turbo systems are actually really good prices. Also since he is pretty much makes the only turbo kits for all v6 mustangs he can price it whatever he wants.

TMA and VMPTuning are the two V6 turbo companies right now.

I wanted to turbo mine too and went and got quoted at a speed shop and they told me pretty much they will have to make everything for me. They can get the turbo but all the piping has to be custom, and this is a mustang shop. I've looked around and I can't find anything turbo wise for a v6 stang other than custom jobs.

turbo will have more potential since you can always turn up boost if you get more motor work done and it can handle it. with a supercharger you can only go so small on the pulley before your pushing the superchargers limits where as a good turbo can generally do three times the boost pressure a supercharger can put out. not to mention you cant just adjust boost on a supercharger with the simple turn of a knob or press of a button.

You have to put the driver side on the passenger side and passenger side on the driver side right?
