Need Suggestions on Route to Take (modifications)
I have a 95 V6 Mustang which is in great shape. I've had the car for some time and really have not drove it nor have I done anything to it. That being said, I'm rather bored of the car. Right now, I'm having a hard time deciding what to do. Right now, if I decided to keep my car, I would atleast have to do some cosmetic upgrades which would be a paint job, maybe some changes to the front and rear lights and I read a thread about a chin spoiler which is a decent idea. My other option is to sell my car and then get another Mustang 2000 and up. What do you guys think? Should I just upgrade my current vehicle or invest in the upgraded style?

How well off are you financially? (not asking for specifics)
Because if you can pull it, an 03/04 cobra will put a HUGE smile on your face. But if you wanna stick with sixxers, a 99-04 is a smart choice. A bit stronger than the round bodies, and, imho, better looking. If you want to keep your current stang, and want to have some fun with it, give it some dual exhaust, a cai, and gears. It'll feel like a new car.

Keep it and work with it IMHO. The one thing I've noticed is there are WAY too many new edges driving around with all the same cosmetic upgrades and jazz. Take yours, lower it a smidge (With improved suspension only, of course), slap on some new rims, stay AWAY from Euro Taillight shit, smoke em if ya got a dark car or silver car instead, and in no time you'll start to find you actually have a pretty unique car since damn near everyone buys the New Edge (99-04) ones and doesn't tap their potential really. This is, of course, referring to the average mustang owner and no one on this site cuz there are some beautiful New Edged sixxers on here *Points at Woody's sexy whitey and then cowers before Chris' black beast*
But that's just my two cents. PLUS! Get a 67 fastback if you got money to sling around on a new ride. ![]() -poindexter-

+1 keep your car. I love my '95. Plus, IMHO the sn95s look better than the new edge(but I know a lot here will disagree). Just let me warn you that modding is addictive! I also agree that there are WAY too many 99+ stangs out there. Fix your 95 up and be unique. Although, if you have the money for a Termi that would be a great option.

I appreciate the suggestions. Unfortunately, my car is a dark red which I don't care for much. One of the first things I'm going to do is paint it black. I think the 95's in black, potentially with smoked front and rear lights look super sharp. A major draw back on my decision on going with a new edge is that the interior is the EXACT same outside of a digital gauge or two.

What exactly would I be looking for as far as a dual? This is basically going to be my entry car into this hobby and this is something I've never looked into? If I was to call up a place for a quote, what EXACTLY would I be asking for? I would imagine a CAI would be really nothing to swap out. As for the gears,
I have no idea what you mean with that, however, I'm very interested. Anyone care to school me on that one?

endless threads about exhaust, there are. it makes your car sound sexy, and you'll gain 12-20 hp, relatively speaking. you can do anything from having an exhaust shop custom make you a dual setup and installing it on your ride, to ordering a premade setup from a vendor, such as americanmuscle.com

As stated, there are TONS of exhaust threads use the search function. I would suggest going with Flowmaster 40 muffler or Mac mufflers. After install you are looking at $400-$650 depending on what route you end up taking. If you do get a custom exhaust make sure the shop doesn't crush bend their pipes. You want a shop with mandrel bent pipes. As far as the gears, you are going to want to get gears and a t-lok. There are many different options here. The first thing is to figure out your future goals for the car. Unless you plan on eventually having over 300 RWHP, then you can stick with your 7.5" rear end. If you plan on more power, then you might want to upgrade to the 8.8" rear. If your power is gonna be CRAZY BIG then you can get a 31 spline 8.8" or go balls to the wall and get a 31 spline 9" rear. However, you'll probably just want to stick with the 7.5" The 7.5" is an open differential. That means you'll want to get a t-lock (which is standard on the 8.8") The will prevent you from having a "one wheel peel". As far as the gears most people go with 3.55, 3.73, or 4.10(but there are many other choices as well). The general rule of thumb is if you have a manual tranny get the 3.73. If you have auto get the 4.10. Now for the big question...what will all this get you? Well if your car is an auto transmission 4.10 gears will give you 25% more RWTQ!!! That is a crazy big difference. The down side is that it will hurt your gas mileage and lower your car's top speed. However, unless you tune your car to get rid of the rev limiter, you still won't be able to actually go your car's top speed. That brings up another point. You might want to look at getting a tuner. The tuner will help you get the most out of your mods. I can not tell you enough how helpful a tuner is. However, that is a topic for another thread. This has all been pretty general info. If you have any questions about all this feel free to drop my a PM and I'll be happy to go into more detail about whatever you don't understand or want to know more about.
