Ball Joints/Bumpsteer Install
I have Steeda X2 Balljoints as well as the Steeda Bumpsteer Kit (Hoping this will fix the horrible noises from my front suspension - - if you've seen my other posts). The project seems pretty involved, although I much prefer to do everything on my own. The local (err closest) speedshop FordSpeed Racing in Largo, FL quoted $325 for the install and adjustment.
Just checking to see if this price seems reasonable (I love the shop I've worked with them once before for an alignment after first lowering and they replaced a wheel hub). Or if anyone has done this and suggests I take a Saturday to attack it myself, and then have the Speedshop just do the final adjustments, which would probably shave a couple hundo off the tab. Any advice is welcome! Thanks.

haven't done the balljoints, but the bumpsteer kit was cake. you change the amount of shims to get the tie rod end parallel with the lower control arm while the suspension has the weight of the car on it...
i can't imagine the ball joints being that hard... also, make sure that when you thread it onto the tie rod, that you checked how far it's going on versus how far on the original was. they need to be the same, otherwise your car will never drive straight... |

balljoints get pressed in and out...probably charging you 4hrs total labor bein 1hr to align, 2 hrs to do ball joints and 1 hr to do the bumpsteer kit. not a bad price imo.

So I went ahead and did the install of the X2 ball joints and Steeda bump steer kit with a friend and we did the complete job in 4 hours. Wasn't bad at all, he had a ball joint press already, and with simple hand tools we did it all. Now all the shop needs to do is an alignment and maybe some slight adjustments to the caster/camber plates and the bumpsteer.
