my buddy is an x-cal tuner/dealer.

i think he charges 3-350 for the x-cal and it comes with a free tune.
75 bucks per after that.

we don't know. We don't have experience with the sniper but VMP treats all of its moddedmustangs.com members very well. I always have good service from them.

The sniper looks interesting for sure...

but Justin from VMP seems to be really on top of things... and generally replies to my emails faster than my coworkers do

Remember a product is just a product, but without the right person to sell the product, and to help you with it. You just got some piece of junk that you don't know what to do with. Trust me I know this. When I have to act as a salesman to get someone to buy something, I put all the knowledge I know, and personal experience I have with whatever it is into what I'm saying. Most of the time I have to explain about dry ice. The dangers, uses, and how long it lasts. Go for a company that has good customer service, and a good product. Let other people test a product out first. Here at MM we know that vmptuning.com has awesome customer service, and will help you out more than other customers do. Yes, they may still be trying to sell a product, but at least they do their business with a sense of decency and respect. I am a certified professional in Customer Service, and also work at a grocery store where customer service is our main concern. I have more than respect for vmp for the customer service they give, and would much rather buy the SCT XCAL 2 from them, and then buy a product that we don't know much about, from a company with a little bit of a reputation with some of the members on the board, I don't care if that product has more functions and such.

Well stated...

I am willing to spend a bit more to get a product from a knowlegeable, polite and involved person/company rather than get it cheaper from the guy who isn't sure how it works. Especially when, as in this product, you are going to need follow-up service from the company you purchase from.

Have you tried calling Sniper to find out what their customer service is like? We've been using the Special Forces software for quite some time and it works as good as advertised.

Sniper Tuning has great customer service...I live about 15min from them and decided to give them a try after my friend got his cobra done...I have a 02 V6 and the numbers were very impressive with just exhaust intake xpipe and the dyno is a mustang dyne which put out the actual power and to the wheels not the crank....its a lot more accurate then a dynojet..................def give them a call or if needed message me about further information I could answer any simple questions...if you live in the sanford/orlando area then your not far from them
