windstar ?

So if I found a 95 windstar would that upper and lower intake work on a 2000 or am I stuck buying one?

I don't know about the lower intake, I've just read about putting the 95-96 windstar upper intake on. While I was searching for your answers I did find a thread where someone talked about a 99 Windstar intake I think, and they said you need the upper and the lower. But thats about all I know for that.

I didn't find what I think is everything you need for the 95-96 Windstar upper intake swap.
-Windstar upper intake
-custom built bracket for iac relocation
-bracket to hold throttle cable
-gaskets for upper intake
-upper intake bolts
-coil pack bracket
-shaved iac (only needed if you still have the stock hood, if you have a raised hood you should be fine)
-EGR delete

I think that covers it, but I could be wrong.
Also you can buy it here if you want to.

ur gonna need that stuff plus, extra vacuum line, if u want to change over to breathers to make things less crowded then u need them too. for the iac u have to build more of a plate for it, not a bracket. you'll need the fittings to join the vaccum hoses along with teh hose clamps for them too

ok, i'll keep that in mind (I would like to do the windstar swap also.)
guess I should have paid more attention to the year, lol.

And funny thing, that list... I basically copied it from your "turbo and windstar swap" thread, lol. only I added the EGR delete b/c I saw it on chris's website.

But its good to hear from someone who has done the swap they can tell you the little detail that are important that others (like myself ) didn't know, lol. I'm gonna write that list down for future referance, thanks

yea my first list might not have been as accurate...after doing it u realize the more little stuff that u need. as far as the egr delete i think vap is making one for the egr included if u really need to keep it...

u take off the egr pipe and sensors, put a nut on the header and a block off plate where the pipe was connected on the other end. then u unplug the sensor stuff but u just have to hide some of the wires...u also need to turn the egr off by tune

You can ask either chris, or johnson, they both have experience in this area i know.
But I don't think it would be that hard if you can get/make everything else.
but definately ask chris or johnson about it.

u can put together a swap kit for well under $300...

pull the upper should be easy, take off the hosing going to it. i've never seen then on the vans before but if they have hose clamps holding the hosing on the intake then grab them too. make sure u get the gaskets for it as well which will prolly just stick in the slots on the bottom of the intake. when u unbolt it save the intake bolts and reuse...if u do happen to lose or break one the ones from ur stock upper will work too.

imo buy the kit from VAP Auto - Intake Spacers, J-Mod Kits & more!. it includes all the hoses, clamps, brackets and the cai necessary. it also includes the modified windstar intake and modified throttle body.

Ok that does look simpler than trying to rig things myself...also would I be ableuse my mac cai with it or do they have a special cai that needs to be used, and also will the intake spacer work with the windstar intake? Lastly do I need a lower intake?

an intake spacer will work wit the windstar youll need a raised hood tho to fit it. the mac cai you can sell cuz the windstar kit comes with one. you just need a 3.5" air filter for it. ya i got the kit myself last week, the parts are very nicely designed. that and my intake spacer is goin on this week
