got a problem. need help

so the other day out of the blue my car just started running like shit. was leavin work and stepped on the gas to get out into traffic. when i took of from the next stop light i went to get on it and it just started boggin out. if you get on the gas really gently and slow it will go all the way to redline and sound just fine. but if you step on it right away, something is holding it back. idles like nothing is wrong but once you hammer it, it runs like shit. so yesterday i cleaned the air filter and changed the fuel filter. neither worked. me and my dad thought maybe it jumped the timing chain? wanted your guy's opinion. so yea. whatever you got for help i need it.

Thanks

pvc and check your MAF sensor. you might have gotten it dirty some how. maybe take a look at the plugs and wires and then check the fuel filter ( when did you change that last?) after that try seafoaming it maybe.
right now it sounds like the MAF or something with the fuel
( a vacum leak wouldn't do it would it? not sure.. )

had this issue on a 04 silverado...same issue and it was a clogged bank2 converter......different vehicels yet diag and most things are alike when working on vehicels...justa a thought.....

get ur self a back pressure tester....and take out pre 02 on either side and check exhaust pressure at 2500rpm steady.....more than 1.5psi at any point of rpm even idling and so forth you have a restriction.
