around 12 psi before you want to start thinking about beefing up your engine. you will need to replace your rear end with even 4psi boost.

8-10psi on a turbo
11psi s/c
9psi s/c would be safer

On the subject of "Boost".

How much PSI could a RAM air kit give at a like 50 mph?

SS- Tell me the lease rate factor to get you to a payment of $225 per month on 20,000 loan given 60 months.

I dont work on cars everyday! Its very obvious. Dont belittle me for asking a question.

Just admit that that LFR thing didn't get me and I will

Anyway:

Turbo I would say 8.7psi would be safe 12psi would be the end all don't go over.
S/c I would say 11psi intercooled 8 psi non i/c

if your not running a s/c or turbo you will never see boost or psi.
a lot though with ram air intake your getting air its not at all being forced in.

naturally aspirated your car and every single gasoline car runs off vacuum.
at WOT in a naturally aspirated car you will just see 0 on a boost gauge wether your doing 10mph or 150mph

psi is extra air thats being FORCED into your motor at such a force that its creating pressure. so rather then your motor sucking for air its being fed air.

when the piston moves down in the cylinder with the intake valve open its creating vacuum sucking air into the motor through your heads, lower intake upper intake, intake piping and through the filter.
in an f/i setup your cylinder is actually now having air waiting for the intake valve to open and it gets shoved in there at w/e psi your running.

generally thats why turbo cars with about 3-4psi will see about a 100rwhp increase. but if you double it and run 8psi you wont see another gain of 100rwhp. mainly cause of heat but also because boost is help the pistonget forced down turning the crank faster.

so basically a car with out turbo or a s/c will never see boost. out of some crazy possiblity you run say like a windstar intake and have pipe just go through your hood no filter and getting straight outside air and your hitting 100mph theres a chance you might get some what of a boost rating(i doubt it) itd be a fraction of 1psi though

Better word for that would have been boost.
