If I remember correctly, all that you have to do is cycle the key 8 times leaving the ignition in the on position when the door locks cycle. Hit the lock button on the remote and the lock button on the other one (if you have two). After you've done that I believe you can hit any button on the pad to activate it and then put your 5 digit code in. Cycling the key should reset any code the pad has stored for use with a new one. Also if it works and lets say for instance, the battery dies in your remote reciever you can hit 7-8 and 9-0 at the same time to lock the doors. It'll work with any factory pad and 3-4 if hit should pop open the trunk.

put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position, without starting the engine. meaning everything lights up, your gauages and stereo turns on and blah blah. thats what he means. didnt; knwo that worked for the key pads as well. good info thought that was only for the fobs

That pad sounds aftermarket to me. I would take it to an alarm shop that deals with those keyless entry pads and see if they can help you.

Probably aftermarket which was just mentioned. Did the door locks cycle up and down after cycling the ignition 8 times? What I forgot to mention was after you cycle the key, the locks cycle and you put in a 5 digit code, to turn the ignition in the off position to exit the programming

yeah, I've seen that on a handful of 04's.

It was kind of rare I think, also a little wierd, but neat at the same time.

Do you like it?
