oh boy (vent problem)


well i have sucessfully got my ac knobs moved to the bottom but when i turned it on all it will do is blow air out of the defrost vents. no matter what setting i have it on it blows through the defrost vents. what could be the prob?

you dont have the switch hooked up to the vent doors

I mentioned this possible problem in the other post...

there are vac lines and cables attatched to the HVAC panel. it's not just knobs and electrical, when you move it, it causes problems with the control of the vents and heat a/c.

G/L with this, I don't think that I can help any more than that...

there are doors that block off air flow to certain vents so it will blow out of the others some are mechanical some use an electrical signal to tell the doors to close default is defrost so yours just arent connected right

pop out your vents a take a look... u will see is something isn't right.

My friend had the same problem like a month ago... it was hell for him( i live in phoenix)

yea i almost just left it cause i don't usually use it but if i ever go to sell it i will have to say that the air doesn't work right and i don't want to do that. so i will go through the pain of fixing it

i didn't have a chance to work on it anymore tonight cause i went to the fair with some friends. but i will hit it first thing in the morning. i hope i get it working.

ok i feel really stupid now because im almost positive this is the prob. i have the upper and lower intake off my car. and of coarse some hoses and vacume lines or whatever. could this be the reason it won't work cause i have some of the ac lines removed?

hahaha, nice one! just kidding, just giving you a hard time. what are you doing to your upper and lower intake?? painting? porting? both? and i would like to see a pic of your a/c knobs

both painting and porting and gasket matching. and adding an intake spacer. no not a tb spacer an intake spacer. i can't wait for it to be done.
well i still have to install the ac knobs and the center console and multimedia player so when i get it done i will post them
