if you have 2 straight pipes i think its more trouble because you have to have more support brackets. at least i would want them cause it doesnt look very steady

no on my 69 i had straight pipes and there was no trouble....and there was only a few brackets to hold it in....but i was just curiouse because every one uses x or h pipe and i was thinking about getting straight

Now please correct me if im wrong, but because of the unequal firing order of the v8 you won't have an equalization of gasses if you have a true dual setup on the v8's?

i remeber someone told me that on the v8's you can't do true duals because of the unequalization of gasses...I don't know about the classics, but the newer late models I have heard that.

Yes the older vehicles ran "true dual" pipes.. they came that way from the factory in numerous vehicles, and there were kits to covert many cars and trucks over to true dual exhaust.

However, it has been common knowledge since the '70's at least that an H pipe (And now recently, X pipe) configuration has been more favorable in makeing more hp on most vehicles (NOT full out race vehicles....), increasing flow, and getting better torque.

You can put true dual exhaust on almost any vehicle, but you do need to add the correct hangers for it on most.

on Ford V6's in particular, a true dual would sound like complete and utter horseshit..... Well, ok.. actually almost ALL v6's....
