my personal opinion it isnt really worth it. some stuff the like the fuse box and EGR is ok to move out of the way. but when you start extending wires for the TPS, cam sensor, oil pressure, coolant etc then you go to start it. if you have a short to ground or something may have not been wired 100% you have an issue that will be hard to find since you've tampered with most the sensors

I am an aircraft electrician, and I love cars.

I'll give you a little insight into this...

On aircraft EVERYTHING is hidden, and it's all due to FAA and safety.

On cars, it's in the open b/c it's not cost effective and it's not easy to do with mass production. I wouldn't do it to my own car except on a full custom from a frame to the street. It is very labour intensive and would require the extension of a lot of the harness. To add into that, a lot of the electronics on the engine are on the front and top of the motor, and thus would be exposed most of the time anyway.

It's all a matter of choice, but I would avoid it.

There are a couple of options that you could try to use to "spiff" up your engine bay however. Split loom comes to mind instantly (it looks like a corrugated plastic tube that comes in many colours and installs via a slit that the wiring tucks into). Another way is to buy coloured electrical tape and re-wraping your harness.

Either option (hiding the wiring, or wrap, would be time consuming, it's just a matter of personal opinion.

G/L and keep us updated and provide pics!

here is how it looks after i hid the wires.

and i haven't installed it yet because i just haven't had the time. i was working 12 sifts in a fireman rotation until 2 days ago and now i have to get ready to move in to my dorm for school in 7 days.
i am going to try and see if i can get it in this week but i have a ton of other things that take priority.
