check engine light

so i had that thread a little while ago cause my car was running really rought at high rpm, took it to the dealership, they diagnosed it, turned out to be the coil pack. replaced that now it runs fine. is there a way to turn off the check engine light myself without going to the dealer? my buddy told me to just unplug the battery for awhile, but just thought i would ask you guys.

thanks

you can reset your computer by unhooking the positive and negative battery cables and touch them together for about 15 seconds, usually works, but in a lot of cases you'll fire up your car and the light will be off, then you'll shut off the car but when you fire it back up again the light comes back on

Go to an Autozone or Advanced Auto parts store and they should have the device that reads/erases the light.

Another way is to disconnect the negative terminal and turn the key to start and hold it there for like 15 seconds and connect the battery and it resets it
