i personally like manual since you have more control over shift and if you screw it up it costs a hell of a lot less to fix. automatics are nice in houston traffic though lol. to make an automatic up to par with a manual youll need a shift kit and some other stuff i think. im not too educated about auto's. ab will be able to give you some info and definetly some others

I have an auto with a shift kit and it runs with sticks, but it all depends with what kind of driving your doing. If you in stop go traffic all the time get the auto just because it will be a lot easier and less annoying, but if you live in a small town with open roads or do a lot of higway driving get a stick. IMO the stick is more fun but can be a hassel.

i prefer a tuned and stalled auto for consistency as well as speed. you cant beat the consistency of a correctly set up auto

look into jerry mods and shift kits for the tranny that comes in your car. if it sees a lot of track time and sticky tires, look into a higher stall torque converter and transbrake.

with a tune, you can adjust the shift points and firmness up to 25% safely.

I would say 5-Speed...

But if you live in an area with alot of traffic I would go with the auto...

I would beg to differ. There are much faster autos than a 5-speed or 6-speed gt

dude please listen to all the manuel lovers out there i drove around an automatic corvette for 4 years and hated on stick cars my whole life till i got one and now and it doesent compare to my stick mustang....even though my vette is alot faster (as of right now) and gets alot more stares, having a stick makes you LOVE to drive your car. Even though its sometimes a pain in the ass in traffic its still worth it its not like your stuck in traffic for 9 hours everyday and honestly in traffic its not even that bad...you can control what rpms you want to shift at and when your shifting you get the whole overall feeling of your car.. .... an automatic gets boring after a while dont do it to yourself

and all of what i said is completly true UNLESS if you are trying to get your car up to 800 horsepower and race it everyday on a track witch most likely you arent so go with stick man..ill never forget watching my friend in his 93 stick cavalier absoluletly blow the doors off of my friends 2002 acura rsx and i mean the stats about both motors dont even compare so it had to have been the stick i mean no matter what people might say there is no such thing as a good and bad driver in automatic you cant drive an automatic wrong but u can drive a stick wrong....you will get alot more props and be alot more happy driving a stick

LOL, what a load of bullshit.. thats totally misinformative....

an automatic can be driven well or poorly, just like any other vehicle out there... Its just not nearly as evident as the difference between a pisspoor driven manual, and a pisspoor driven auto........

you want to have fun and feel the gears? get a manual. I have looked into it myself.. I really do enjoy shifting.

you want to have fun, go fast and be consistent? Get an Auto and tune it to the way you want to drive.... Which is why my auto is sticking in the car.

Really? Never? Hmm, I better not peek at alot of the guys at the car clubs vehicles then. I know of more people that ripped their manual out for a built auto than have done the opposite. Why? Because they want to go fast and be consistent.
