Please... I was trying to forget about my involvement with mustang and heater cores.....

But, I did take the center console out, and also both my front buckets just so I had plenty of room..

Personally, its a huge bitch to get to them.... Gimme back my '69 fairlane!!!

you didn't have to disassemble the dash to that degree. The instrument cluster, heater controls, radio, etc..should have been left in the dash and just the dash pulled back like you have it. Saves a lot of time and less squeeks and rattles when you get it back together.

there is no way that you could have taken it out without removing the dash to that extent. you have to remove the entire heating/cooling assembly and there would be no way to do that without takeing the dash completely outt.

plus both the haynes manual and ford manual said you had to do it... they were rightt.

HERE IT IS!!!

I wasn't saying you don't have to pull the entire dash out, I'm just saying it will come out as a complete assembly. you don't have to strip it to the extent you did. lower the steering column and then remove the console and the bolts that retain the dash. then lay it back like you have it.

Actually, while twist 2 go is 100% correct, i also took my entire dash apart and out....

My car is a '97, and I wanted to use the opportunity to be able to clean out the entire heating/cooling vent system, as well as replace all the hold down bolts and nuts and items in order to make things go back with no squeaks. Living in Minnesota, it was VERY scary to see what was inside the heating/ac ducting.... Now its all shiny clean and pretty, with a new Heater core

My best advice when assembling everything again is to take it slow and steady. There are quite a few places where if anything doesn't quite go together right, you will end up with the sqeak/rattle/roll when your driving.

well i was tring to wire it so that the fog lights will come on with the running lights instead of with the headlights and we hooked some wires up wrong and ended up melting the wire back to the healight switch and then the switch smoked up and it went from there but luckly i only ended up with a bad switch and thats all.

Ouch.. I know what you mean.. when I was first installing my driving light kit, I was looking at wiring the main power into the light switch to get that same exact thing...

What I ended up doing was wiring in the relay with the running light on the drivers side of the vehicle... I mounted my relay next to the battery, and spliced the on/off for the relay into the running light.... I also have the switch in the car (factory style, in the console) that can manually turn the driving lights on/off... but they will only come on when the parking or headlights are on.
