2004 Mustang V6 Engine Mods
Hey everybody..this is my first post on this site but i have been looking at a few engine mods for my car for a while now...I have basically narrowed it down to these..tell me what u think...i will greatly appreciate ur opinion..!..
![]() 1)Mac 2.5'' Cat Back 2)Mac Shorty Off Road 2.5'' H-Pipe 3)Mac 1 5/8'' Long Tube Headers 4)BBK CAI Kit 5)BBK 65mm Throttlebody 6)Hi-Flow Throttle Body Spacer 7)Motive Performance Plus 4.10 Gears (I have an auto) 8)Motive Bearing Kit 9)Ford Racing 7.5'' 28 Spline Traction - LOK Limited Slip Differential I have listened to several different exhaust, and i decided on the MAC Catback with o/r H-pipe and LT headers because of the loud, but deep tone from the H-pipe. I plan to add other minor engine upgrades later on, but nothing like a supercharger any time soon. |

Axe #6 completely and with an auto, you may want 3.73s if you do a lot of highway driving. As for #4, look at Ebay and get one without a name brand unless you want the bright shiny BBK under your hood.
Also look at a tuner and UDPs as soon as possible. My 2 cents.

the throttle body spacer i was talking about is the one from rpmoutlet.com...made by Motorvator..and i thought it was better to get 4.10 gears for an auto and 3.73 for a manual...

the spacer is worthless
4.10s is a good idea but highway will kill you on gas mileage if you do a l0t of highway driving. rpmoutlet.com has a horrible reputation so you know

Would u then recommend getting some UDP's first rather than a throttlebody and spacer..?
And i dont really do a lot of highway driving, but i do somewhat...so would 3.73 gears be better for gas.?..if so wut else would i need to purchase along with the 3.73 gears..?..Thanx for ur help.! |

upgraded throttle body is useless until you start throwing on more mods and gettin your intake and heads ported and polished. the spacer is complete useless. instead of those 2 get UDP's. the mpg difference between 3.73 and 4.10 isnt too great. 3.73 will save more on gas than 4.10, but the extra accelleration is worth it imo.
sice you have a 04, i would look into getting the windstar intake from itschristorres8 and make your own cai for it... more power than just a cai and not too expensive

Would the MOTOBLUE H.O. Series Power Pulley Kit from rpmoutlet.com be the best/most convenient choice because everything i would need comes n the kit..?..or is ordering from rpmoutlet just a bad idea..?..if so where could i find a better pulley kit.?

![]() the windstar kit comes wit a 65mm throttle body and a cold air intake, you just need to buy a filter for it

Is the windstar kit much better than just a regualr intake kit like a BBK intake..?
And is the Windstar kit from vapauto.com the kit your talking about..? |

windstar kit is better than just a CAI because it is a new upper intake manifold with the CAI. The Windstar intake flows better than the stock upper intake so you will see better power

ok..thanks for the info on the windstar kit..!.ill start looking more into that..
And as for Roxas331..im not in the wrong forum..u must be misinformed..at the top of the page it says "V6 Mustangs"..(AS IN ALL V6 MUSTANGS IN GENERAL)...not 2005+ Mustangs...but if u were lookin for that page thn u can find it on the main V6 Mustangs Forum page as a sub-forum labeled "4.0L 2005+"...and if im not mistaken under your user name it says.."newbie"..just like mine.. |

If I get the Windstar upper for mine, I was wondering if I should get the lower P/P and port matched? Makes sence to me, but I am a noob. Chris????? or any one for that matter.....
