royal purple?

I have a 99 v6 mods listed below.. ive been changing my oil ever since i had the car with 10w 30 pensoil. Im thinking about putting royal purple in this change. The car has about 97000 miles on it now. Am i wasting money doing this?

Yes...if you don't have any issues with the Penzoil, then stick with it.

the test they have done on oil since they passed the new law or w/e, saying that they can call 3 time extracted dino oil synthetic, has shown that Valeilene Dura Blend is now the better of oils (not better than R/P, Lucas, or redline "top brands") I was amazed because I allways thought of mobile 1 as the bust to use in my V6 jeep but now dura blend! and its cheaper to boot!

so I recomend dura blend for your car! thats what Im gonna use in my jeep and my moms cougar!

id be careful with 97k on the clock...your car is so used to the oil your using that if you have a slight leak that royal purple will leak out that much easier...i was gonna try it with mine cause my friend said he could hook it up with a free RP oil change at work so i was gonna try it but i have been double thinkin since i think i might have a slight leak somewhere i dont want that shit to leak worse.

but if you know you dont have any leaks and wanna spend the money then RPFTW! haha

I think if you can get royal purple easily, why not? It's definitely great oil and has it's benefits. Now will it make a huge difference which oil you run, in most cases, probably not. But having peace of mind knowing that you're running some of the best oil possible in your car is nice too.

I personally run Red Line now....RP served me well, but I can just get RL easier/cheaper now, so I use it on the regular now.

well today i went to advanced auto and i went with mobile 1 10w 30 full synthetic and i went to get the bolt out of the oil pan to drain the old stuff and the last person who did it(i took it in to have my oil changed) and they put it on really tight with an impact wrench im guessing so i dunno what i will do now? i dont want to strip the bolt.

I used pennzoil a couple months ago just for the heck of it, my car ran shity, hesitating much, and less throttle response. That could be because of switching right from royal purple. After Pennzoil I used Castrol Gtx Full Synthetic which felt a whole lot different than royal purple, more torque feeling. That could just be me. I stay with Castrol Gtx since its cheaper than Royal Purple.

dont go to tire kingdom

get a wrench and a pole to take it off

and dont put it back so tight. just firmly. it wont come off.
same with the oil filter, you shouldnt need any tool to put the oil filter on
if you do your putting it to tight

nothing that will hurt more then an impact gun
get a pole (like 1-2ft) and slip it over the wrench. or just get a breaker bar.
