Windstar vs cai

ok so I have a CAI with a 65mm tb and a tb spacer along with a bbk CAI. Would be even worth it swapping it out for a windstar intake? Or not worth it? Also if I got the windstar intake could I put the spacer and the bigger tb on there?

if you get the kit it comes with a cold air intake anyway
you can use the throttle body and spacer with the windstar

hate to threadjack, but I have a question about the Windsar...

What years are the Windstar Mani's off of. I've worked on a couple, and I don't remember seeing one like that... Is it off of the 3.8 L or the 3 L, or what? Most of the ones that I have seen have the runners over the top, and not thru the middle...

I am a 25u Signal Support Systems Sppecialists. "Commo". I am at camp liberty right now, bagdad airport. i work with alot of ariforce here. i dont have any pics right now, i was working on it befor i deployed its in storage now.
But you have to fill in the IAC port on the top and relocate it. have to make a bracket for the coil and throtle cables to bolt on to. extend the throtle body conections were the cables hook to. either delete the EGR or make a new bracket.
You can buy a pre fabed kit. but i like to do it myslef, its alot of work.
but seems like you would like that.

I used to install Avionics in aircraft that were never designed to hold what we put in... I think I can handle this...

I think that I may do this... Seems like fun...

Couldn't the cables be routed just above the Mani and attatched to the TB in the original location, just with a little bit of bracket up where the IAC is removed? That way, the IAW could be filled and blocked with a gasketed bracket.

Also, what is the fitting just behind the IAC? What do you do with that?

it most definitely would be worth it, a windstar intake will get you about 10rwhp gain, and the cai gave you maybe 1.

Well the windstar shows proven gains, and comes with its own cai. So you wont lose the 5hp from the cai. The tb spacer is doin nothing for you and since your intake manifold isnt ported to match the bigger tb, its not helping either. So yes swap it out

Sell the tb because it does nothing for you unless you are running ported intakes. The tb spacer is a damn paperweight. Try to find another idiot to buy it.
