TRUETRAC
I am getting a 1999 - 2004 V6 Mustang. I have been reading that if you burn out in a V6 that only one tire will spin and burn out. So people are telling me to buy a detriot truetrac so both tires can spin. So i am just wondering if this is the right thing.

The t-lok is a cluth-type differential unit. It CAN go out... if you abuse the living crap out of it...... Which, would then require that you install new clutch disks into it....
The link you have goes to, I believe, a gear type differential unit which would be a bit stronger than the t-lok, but also you would suffer a bit worse of a ride when going around corners as the gear system "ratchets" in order to disengage one axle... it can sound noisy, and sometimes vibrate the car...... If you just want to do 2 tire burnouts, just put a Powertrax unit into your open differntial.... |

i think the only way it would go bad fast is if you go to the track and race it every weekend but youll have money to fix it tho...but i wouldnt worry about it get the t-lock it wont wear your tires out as fast....but it will wear your tires out faster than the stock diff.

I am considering a detroit truetrac. I have blown my trac lok out after one season on slicks. For a v6 unless you are FI, you would probably be okay with the trac lok.
