Brake component and shock absorber suggestions
I think I need new calipers. This morning I realized my '97 V6 Mustang pulls to the left when I let go of the wheel . Pulls harder when I apply light pressure to the brake pedal. When I got home I used a laser thermometer to check the temperature of the rotors. The left front was 285*F the front right was 233*F. The rears were both around 180*F. My conclusion: I need new brakes.
What are some good upgrades I could do to help my brakes. I want to upgrade all of my pads and rotors and the front calipers. I've never done shocks on my car either. (I got it with 48K miles, it now has 105K. They don't seem to be absorbing much shock any more) I figured while I had the wheels off and everything apart, so I would also like to upgrade my shocks. The ones I am debating so far are Strange Engineering vs. KYB AGX adjustable shocks. Questions, comments, concerns, suggestions? Thanks, -Nathan |

+1 to the ceramic pads and either re-surfaced or new rotors.
The Cobra brake kit will be a good deal of money. You could always opt for the bullit/mach 1 calipers and rotor/brackets. They are cheaper and will perform much better than your stockers. And HMUSN... Yes... Bilsteins are the way to go (if you have the moneys) |

Vented?
I was thinking of going with some slotted and X-drilled rotors. Does anyone know if Brembo or Powerstop makes a good vented rotor? Most of the Vented rotors I looked at in Summit require semi-metilic pads. I just wanted to see if there was a better than stock replacement name to replace my front calipers with with out killing my moneys.
Anyone ever use the KYB AGX or Strange Engineering adjustable shocks / struts? If so, any comments about them? The full set of either is gonna run me about $420 so I just wanted to get some input about them first. |

You don't need adjustables unless you are running track or autocross besides the street... kinda expensive for somethin you don't need, a full set of Tokico Hp's is about $100 less. I have them and have no complaints. Also, I would research some for drilled/slotted rotors that AREN'T name brand, I haven't seen myself, but a friend of mine with an expo got a set for way cheaper than name brand and said they work fine, and you don't need the best brakes in the world in a sixxer, I don't know your mods but I doubt you have crazzzyyy power.
