new engine... ive been thinking....

as alot of you know ive been all our mm site looking for help... i own a 2000 vert and i love it, i dont want a new car but its getting ALOT of mileage on it... so ...

i have a 86 5.0L engine thats currently at the machine shop getting cleaned up and all that noise were planning to do the swap over the winter months. alot of people say that its going to be nearly impossible to complete this swap ( on a college kids budget) so what i was thinking.........

find an old 3.8L have that bored out and all that then put a blower on it. that would bolt right up and be easier... but i want the sound of a nice v8..

please help.

fact....a v8 sounds like a v8

fact...a v6 sounds like a v6

doing certain things to the exhaust and maybe a cam could change the tone of it tho

a v6 will never sound like a v8. do what you want man if you really want the 5.0l then go ahead, yeah its gonna be a tough project but it can happen. to each their own.

then again a blown v6 would be awesome i would end up doing that instead of a 5.0l

Personally, I'd go 5.0hhh! haha. Had to. Yes, a little more work, but worth it. The potential on those motors is awesome, even with basic bolt ons. Plus, the sound your want out of a stang.

I've heard some nasty sounding v6s before with a mean cam
my car with an open dump sounds pretty mean as well. or with the bullet muffler

your probably looking for a 4.6L GT sound which a 5.0 wont give you but it'll still sound better the a bolt on v6 every will

...I hope your kidding...

A non functional shaker hood wont do anything. You wont get the sound of a v8 out of a v6, plain and simple.
