WOT Switch, Window Switch, Fuel Pressure Safety Switch and momentary switch all work together...If one of the 4 is not in the correct perameters to spray it wont spray...Plus you have to arm the nitrous system before andyhing will work anways...

WOT Switch = Wide Open Throttle Switch...Only allows the nitrous to be activated when at Wide Open Throttle

Yeah the Window switch only allow the nitrous to be activated between set rpm ranges (3000-6200 for instance)

fuel pressure safety switch will shut the nitrous system down if the fuel pressure drops below a set psi...Usually 35-50psi...

Momentary switch allows the nitrous to spray only if the other 3 components of the system are satisfied...

A nitrous kit is not simply just getting a bottle and throwing it on...Right now I ahve around $1500 in my nitrous kit as we speak...And there are still a few things I need to buy...

Yes you can buy your basic nitrous kit for $400-$600 but mine is not a baisc kit...My car will be putting down over 500rwhp/500rwtq so the basi kit will not do...And now I am in the process of dropping in a new fuel system so I can support over 600rwhp/600rwtq while on the bottle...Its a never ending cycle...

Not as easy as some people think...Definately not as easy as it is in the movies...You cant walk into a speed shop and say "I need two of the big bottles"...Well you could but you would be walking funny as you left becuase he would have ass raped you on the price...

Planning is king...

first thing is you shouldnt even be worried about nos yet... you would haveta build your engine to support the system.. your new at all this so get the basics down first.. then understand more about forced induction... then when you get a few years experience driving at high rates of speed ON A TRACK AND NOT STREET RACING then go for some nitrous

if you street race and this is your first car dont even think about it for some time. if you go to the track thats a different story. we dont want to lose an MM member because he just started driving and got nitrous and well shit happens. also work on your car. install a CAI, exhaust, and other little things like that. learn about cars, hands on. then when it comes time that your ready for some nitrous you will be able to do it yourself. and well some people just arent mechanically inclined. i happen to be very good with anything mechanical. i may not have school smarts or anything but i can figure shit out. and if your not good well thats what mechanics are for. but that costs $

You do not need nitrous being 16 and driving your first car...End of story...

Do bolt-ons on your car and then in a year or so after you are used to the car then you think about MAYBE adding nitrous...

It can change from city to city your best bet is to go ask a cop, but to be safe stay away from red, and blue, and flashing and strobing is usually not legal. I know it isn;t in NC. I don't have underglow on my car but I do have white led's and no one has said anything to me yet.

Walk in to your local police department, and ask the sgt at the desk if you can speak to someone regarding vehicle lighting.... Then, when you are speaking to the officer he directs you to, just tell him flat out.. "I have a mustang, I want to put underlighting on it, and i don't want to do anything illegal. Can you help me?"... Chances are they are going to sit down with you and give you the low down on what you can and can not do...

Is it weird to do that? well, yeah.. I feel weird anytime I walk into a police department.... must be my guilty concience.. But believe it or not, the police will have more respect for you if you ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU DO THINGS... Not every police officer is out to give you a ticket... alot of them are like the rest of us... they want to go to work and have an uneventful day so they can go home and tinker and play with THEIR own thing.....

Minnesota is a bit different... you CAN have underlighting, and in my particular suburb, there is no color restriction... HOWEVER, if you are running your underlighting and moving faster than 15-20mph, you can be ticketed as your car would then be considered a 'distraction' to other drivers....

As to nitrous... STAY AWAY.... ChrisJ explained the setup, and he is 100% correct.....

Mine is wired about the same way...
Main On/Off switch - On it works - off the entire system is disabled.
Fuel Pressure Switch - If good pressure it works, no fuel system disabled
RPM Switch - Begins Spray at 3000, shuts it off at 6000
Shifter Button - Must press this and KEEP IT PRESSED to ENABLE THE SYSTEM (NOT to spray, just to enable the system!!!!)
WOT Switch, if all the above is functional, the spray will shoot ONLY at Wide Open Throttle.

When I run down the track, I generally launch and get a hook up, then keep the shifter button pressed to kick the N2O in... as long as all the other stuff is in good standing, I'm set... if any ONE of them shuts down, the entire system is disabled.

I did not mention the purge system, as that is an 'add on' for most people, although I condider it a MUST (as do most serious shops...) and I have LED purges shooting out the hood scoops on my '97.... Looks quite cool

But... I've been driving for quite some time.... I know what to expect with high horsepower and nitrous.... It is not something I would ever ever ever recommend to anyone with their first... or second car......... It is also something that can be very dangerous to install if you do not understand how everythign works.... and it is HIGHLY detrimental to your motor if it is not a) installed right, b) built for n2o, c) inexperianced driver or d) all the above.....

I just purge out of the cowl...

A pruge gets the condesation and air out of the nitrous lines and get the nitrous up ready to be sprayed...

You can purge through your engine but I would not suggest it...

Heh he, I set mine up just for the "cool" factor.... Before I did that, I had it simply pushing into the wheel well kinda hidden... in order to avoid any possability that our friends with the red/blue lights might see....

I am not really down with using spray on the streets...Instant traction issues...

HUGE traction issues.... and EXPENSIVE tire purchaes...

I've used mine twice on the street, both times regretting it

but, when some clown pulls up in the civic, a nice blip on the gas with a purge is a fun thing....
