Unless the V6 superchargers are way different then the V8's then your last statement is not true...There are people out there running 20#'s of boost trhough a supercharger...

i know the much larger ones can, but those are on the v8's as you said, i was speaking of superchargers on the v6 platform specifically that would be the case. The vortech s/c has an internal max rpm of 50,000rpm and using a 2.62 yielding 10-12lbs of boost is really pushing it with a vortech unit. the procharger unit is also quite close to those numbers i believe

DOnt they make the bigger superchargers for the 6's?

Couldnt you use a paxton or soemthing that is built for a V8 and just swap in the blower and get the car tuned for it?

You could swap in anything really with fabrication but as far as a bolt on kit for a v6 i dont know of one. i suppose it could be done but i havent seen or heard of anyone trying such a thing. if i was going to have to do custom anything in the first place i wouldnt waste my time on a s/c, much rather have a turbo. but thats just me. If someone wanted a larger s/c for the 6 with some amount of effort im sure it could be done.

Yeah I figured it would be a bolt-in in place of the v-6 supercharger...But you would have to have a built motor to run the V8 supercharger on the v-6...Or have a big pulley for it or something...

Paxton makes several designs of SC that are capable of various boost levels, and could be set up for the V6....

vortech doesn't, to my knowledge (and I haven't looked very hard in all honesty) build high boost SC's....

Procharger might. I have honestly only researched them in relation to my Mustang V6....

although, if you want to talk about my old nova and its big mean nasty 500 big block... we could talk about a blower bigger than most imports and boost levels that could launch a missle into orbit but those are a total different style of sc than for the mustangs.....

... zomg ...

when you put on a forced induction unit... i.e turbo or charger... your a creating an unatural atmosphere inside the tubing between the unit and the cylinder... this unaturall atmosphere is one containg alot more air psi of air ...(psi = pounds per square inch)... this psi is refered to as boost... for reasons unknown to me... if i had to guess its because your "boosting up" the psi...

know ik that my terminalogy is incorrect but i see that as the easiest way to explain it... so when yall correct me ... note that i don't really care

anyway depending on your budget..the best set up would be a twin turbo kit that you have to email andy about

or if you have a low budget...he makes a $3k turbo kit thats nice as well
