fuel pumps

Friend of mine just got a used 97 3.8 5spd.... The car is basically stock, but it now has an 8.8 with 3.55 gears in it and a cat-back dual exhaust. The motor is clean, and doesn't look like it was ever modified other than the K&N CAI on it.....

however, the fuel pump... its loud... with the car sitting there idling, you can hear the fuel pump. you drive the car, and if the windows are down, you can hear the fuel pump......

Are there aftermarket fuel pumps that are this noisy?? Or is his going bad???

I had to drop a new fuel pump in a friends car when we did the Procharger, and it doesn't even sound quite this bad.....

i can deff hear mine when im walking around the car while its running and i can hear it come on when i turn the ignition to the "on" position.
idk out hearing it while in the car.
