no aftermarket company makes them for a 99-04 mustang except Precision Shaft Technologies, Carbon Fiber Driveshafts and Racing Shafts. they can custom make you one if you send them the proper specs

crap....i dont know most of the specs they are asking. how come its not 99-04 compatible without specs? or can i call them and find out if they already have the specs on file from another mustang?....didnt see a price neither, how expensive you think it would be for ours?

The finest driveshaft available anywhere. Each driveshaft is specifically designed by our Engineering Department to optimize the characteristics of Carbon Fiber required in your special application. Passed SFI test at 2800 Ft/lbs torque. Prices range from $500.00 to $1,400.00.

Unnecessary...

Would be cool just to say you have one though.

I don't think I would put it on my car though... Too much money to take a risk of theft...

im seeing why it would be a waste of money, its lighter and will be able to turn the rear wheels with almost no effort so its going for engine performance and unnecessary weight, i havent seen a good reason to not get it yet.

cuz its like 4 times the prices of an aluminum driveshaft and youll save maybe 4lbs more and get maybe another 2rwhp

Its one of those "damn i have nothing else to buy, oh wait CF driveshaft is out I have money to spend I WANT IT" type things, not a I have a cai and gears time to get the c/f driveshaft and run mid 14s! type thing.

if you have the money to spend and that's what you want go for it. But personally i think that you should just get an aluminum shaft and spend the left over money elsewhere (maybe on other weight reduction?) and you may end up getting better times for the same ammount of money spent.
But if you want it for bragging rights/sexy factor go for it.
But from a performance standpoint it does not make sense.

If its 6lbs and the aluminum is 14lbs than thats the same weight savings goin from stock to aluminum. The benifits would be even greater though. They have some DS on their site list at $600, thats not too bad at all.
