Throttle Body Q's

My next mod I am thinking of is a new throttle body. So far I have Intake and Dual Exhaust.

Q #1: I was wondering what the stock "size" is for a throttle body on the 99 v6 mustang?

Q #2: What would be best from the following?

A) 70MM BBK $265 from 99-00 THROTTLE BODY, 70MM 3.8L, MUSTANG, ALSO FITS 97-00 4.2L F-SERIES MUSTANG

B) 70MM ACCUFAB $290 from 99-00 THROTTLE BODY, 3.8, V6, 70MM MUSTANG

C) 65MM BBK $275 from 99-00 THROTTLE BODY, 3.8, V6, 65MM MUSTANG

D) 65MM BBK $260 from BBK 65mm Throttle Body (99-2000 V6) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

E) 56MM BBK $218 from BBK Throttle Bodies

F) Any Other Suggestions????

-thanks

you dont need a upgraded throttle body if you only have intake and exhaust. you will need an upgraded one when you really need the increased air flow, such as forced induction. it would be better to spend the money on gears/t-lok/udp or save up for for serious modding.

you don't need a throttle body until your upper and lower intake manifolds are ported to match...if not it will be like a funnel all this air has to move through a tiny little airway...not too beneficial.

okay, thanks guys!! feel free to delete this post...now im just wondering what my next mod will be. any advice on long tube headers? can i install them myself? i heard that by installing long tube, it will eliminate the catylictic converters. Is this true? I don't want to be running anything illegal, I would like to keep it emmision legal and all that.

...should i start a new post with this new question?

Depending on what your emmisions laws are in your state, lt's are a great mod. I've read that they're kinda difficult to install but you can do it yourself. Idk about the cats but apparently it sounds and performs a lot better than stock/shorty headers

There is always LT headers w/ hi-flow cats. They are about 150-160 for a pair.

yea, $265 for 5hp? that doesnt sound good. You can get gears for 200 and it feels like 80 hp. Not an exageration.

My 3.73s did not feel like 80hp! Better/faster acceleration YES, h.p. NO!

Yes, you can do the LTs yourself, but you may have to lift the engine a few inches for them to clear.

my 4:10s felt, i hope noone beleives that gears actually give you hp. Gears are one of the few mods, and pretty much the only cheap one, that you can really feel.

Since they dont add HP, how is it possible to add TQ? It seems they work on the same principle as UDPs in that they free up whats there. Im probably wrong, but please explain!
