Jmod
I know I asked this in that other thread... but I don't wanna threadjack, so I'll just make this...
How does the Jmod work exactly? I know it makes the car shift better, and prolongs the life of the tranny... but I'm just curious as to what it is... I saw VAP isn't selling the kit anymore, but saw that I can send some part in and the guy will do the jmod and send it back... how easy is it to get this part out to send to them... something I can do, or something I should take to a shop (I don't know shit about transmissions, obviously)I've done a lot of searching on it, but I never notice anyone include it with their mods list... so is this just a decent mod, or more of an "if you're an auto and don't have a jmod, you fail" kind of mod...

ah ok... so one of those, you have an auto and no jmod, you fail at life kind of mods...
![]() mostly was interested cause I saw I can get a discount if I get it and the intake spacer together... any idea what part I would be sending in... or any of that? And damn, I just realized I'm gonna have to find another car to drive for a while while that's sent out... hope my POS van can make it all the way across town...haha |

I had not seen those, thanks Woody. With my tuner, I set my shifts to hard- should I still look at the Jmod, shift kit and tranny cooler? I like the idea of extending the life of my tranny if I can.

ok, so I just realized I'm a dumbass...
I was planning on just taking the valve body out of my car, and let my car sit until I can send it and get it back from VAP... but then realized I could just go to a junk yard and get a cheap ass one there... so I can still use my car... what cars have the 4r70w? I know mustangs obviously, but there's not too many of those in the junkyards that I've been to... does the ranger or anything else have it? |

Truck valve bodies are different then the ones in Mustangs.
You need to look for a 99 or newer Mustang valve body and seperator plate.

he's out of stock, but if you send in your valve body, he'll perform the jmod, and send it back... |

I'm planning on getting an xcal2 soon... will I even need to do this then? or will the xcal improve my shifts just as well as the jmod would? |
