oh man
aight so i took my car in to get the oil changed and the power sterring fluid flushed... which is just some average mantince thing ever one must do ... no biggy...

but when i go in their to pick up my baby the guy comes out to me and he says... are you the owner of the mustangs

im like you becha...

he's like ... i got some bad news... and starts rambling of gaskets that have gone bad...
i was like WaTiF did you just say... he was like here.... here is an estimate of what it might cost... yall should take a look




so my new goal is to get 1500 dollars and put in a new sixer... with a built rotating assembly... so i need yalls help finding a good priced block... or a good priced crate... all ideas welcomed...

ohh and if yall know how to change the timing cover gasket... please help cuz that ones not as hard as the other... so i know i can do it

Ok that sounds like a lot of bullshit. Are you leaking oil? That would be the only reason for replacing the rear main seal and timing cover gasket. However if you know it to be leaking and you can live with that dont spend $1,500 on that. A lot of that seems like unecessary maintenance. they're tryin to rip you off big time.

yeah you would notice if your gasket need to be replaced car would run way different.

... it does need to be replaced... i lose about a quart of oil a month... some how i make it from change to change... but winters coming so hopefully i get some time to take the front of the block apart and replace the front gasket

mine blew the gasket and it was $50 in gaskets to replace them and i did it myself. the previous owner also got a quote of 1500 just to replace it. we also did the rear main seal and someother stuff. if ur relatively mechanicly inclined, u could also do it.

you know wat they say, if it aint from ebay, you paid too much...and its gaskets wont be bad as soon!!!!!!!!!
