headers and duals? loss of power?
i know that you do gain sum power up top from dual exhaust, but you also lose some down low, my bud just got duals and i take him from the dig every time, but i also have an intake .....would headers help with the lower power or no? and why is longtube headers better than shorties?

how big was the piping he got? the bigger piping can cause a loss of backpressure. headers will help with power and sound. shorties are pretty much the same as the ones thats are on there. u might get a slight sound difference, but besides that nothing from shorties

I think that there might be other factors. 2.5 is a pretty good pipe size(but big enough to lose low end). Although, 2.25 would give a better low end. Don't go with 2" that is smaller than stock. But as I said I think there may be other factors in why you're beating him. Do either of you have any other mods? Has he tuned his car since getting that exhaust?...cuz that could help a lot. Do both cars have they same type of transmission? If you're manual vs him Auto(unless he has a shift kit and a j-mod) then that could explain why you're beating him. Maybe you've got better tires. And the most obvious possibility is that you might just be a better driver than him.

the spacer does nothing for sound at all. the only sounds i know from my car is when it was stock and than the way it sounded after headers and full exhaust cuz i installed everything from the headers back all at once

2" IS the stock size on a v6, 2.25" on a gt/cobra/mach/bullitt and aftermarket is 2.5" and some are available in 3". if youre just gonna be an n/a bolt on v6 id stick wit the 2.25" piping but if you plan on stroking or power adders than id go wit 2.5"
