Winter?

ok so if u live in south wisonsin u know its like a blizzard today and well i was half way to school when i found out it was canceled lol
well anyways i was wondering if people put like sand bags or whatever in there trunks to try and help get some weight in the back because ya i could barely make it out of my driveway i was just sitting there spinning

so ya what if anything do u other wi people or nothern people put in your car to stop spinning and sliding or watever?
this is my 1st winter with the stang and im kinda worried lol
and yes i do have a 90 sunbird i can drive during winter but me and my brother share it so he also needs to drive that to since he has a fiero so i cant always take that

I'm in Wisconsin too, and I don't even attempt to drive mine in winter (It's never been driven in winter). I just bought a beater car.

If I drive my car in the snow (with a manual, stage 3 clutch, 2-wheel drive, and a supercharger) I'm almost guaranteed to get into an accident.

I'm from NC and when we get big snows which used to be kinda often ( nows it is 70 here right now), but my dad just put chains on my tires which helped a lot plus I lived on a huge hill so no chains I parked at the bottom.

I put my baby in the garage, and don't touch it until the snow and ice are gone...

I live in Minnesota, and they use salt along with sand to dust the roads with... right now, my car has zero rust or corrosion and I want to keep ti that way

BUT... from driving other RWD cars, I would recommend tossing about 200-300lbs of sand in the trunk... try to center it right over the rear axle...... This is a fantastic way to work it, because if you get super stuck and need to, you can crack one open to toss sand down to get more traction

I thought my moms V6 was bad, but when i got my 5.0, i learned that i can barely drive it in the rain, snow is out of the question.

Bags of cat litter will be good in your trunk. Especially over the right side of your trunk if you don't have a t-lok. It will put more weight over the wheel that gets power, and also if you need something to use on ice or anything you got cat litter to help you get out of problems. I'm lucky enough to have 75 degree weather today, and not have it snow that much here in VA.

I come from the Great White North and I have tried sandbags but it does not really help that much, the best thing to do is put it away for the winter or end up having to do body work.

Good Luck!

I'm from Green Bay, and this is my first year with it in the snow, but it actually handles better than my chevy S-10 did when it was in 2 wheel. 2 good size bags of sand in the trunk (I put mine in rubbermaid tubs so they dont break open) and also get some snow blades for that windshield. Note: Chains on tires would work, but they are illegal to have on your car in wisconsin.

hm weird. i have a fiero as well. not alot of those around these days , they suck ass lols. ya my 96 mustang is AWFUL in snow. i think a mustang is quite possibly the worst car to drive in snow, mine is awful even in just rain. haha. but yes, i suggest a couple bags of cement. and its a good idea to put them in rubbermaid containers like the poster above said. but concrete is one of the densest heavy bags of stuff you can get so i think its the best (more weight for the size)

ya so my brother works at a pet store and says he can get me some ripped open bags of cat litter so ill just tape them up and throw them in some rubbermaid containers and see what happens
hopefully i can make it through the winter without recking it
espically since i really havent driven in that much snow with any car seeing as ive only had my liscense since january

We have a LOT of snow here in the winter and I drive mine in the winter but I put on studded winter tires and add a bit of weight to the trunk. How do I add a picture of my car? This is my first post. Thanks.[/img]

Believe me, you can't go wrong with that. my first winter with my stang, I did some james bond sh!t, that I didn't know I could do.
So I went and get a $500 Honda and there's a reason the called it a beater.. cuz I BEAT the shit out of it.. lol

I also have a 2000 cavaleir in really good shape that I gave to my son that I can use if I need it. You said stang in your post, I have a decal on the front bumper of my mustang "STANG". Really love the mustangs. I live in Newfoundland Canada and on an average snow storm my car is under 3-4 ft of snow. We are used to driving in snow.

go to profile on the top of the screen, then go down to upload avatar. go to browse and find the picture on your computer, then hit upload. if its too big or doesnt fit, get a free pic editing program and resize it. Irfanview is what I use but there are alot more out there. Hope that helps, it took me forever to get a pic up but.......I hope you were talking about your avatar, not just one simple pic, if you want just a pic on a thread let me or somebody else know and we'll help you out from there too!
