Next Mods?.

Hey everyone, im new here, some great posts around that im learning from. Any way, here is my deal, im in Iraq right now but im planning my next moves with my '05 V6, So far ive put in a cold air intake, performance throttle body (70mm) some 9mm cables and thats about it. What would you reccomend be next? This is still my primary mode of transportation, so it needs to stay legal, and id like to do the work myself, its sort of a hobby. So what are some good ways to build up my power while keeping the mechanical work at User level. (im pretty compentant with my car, just dont want to lose it for weeks at a shop) Im open to all suggestions, and am looking forward to learning from you all. Thanks

Pat

for a full bolt on set up (what i think you are looking for) you can expect some decent results.

for a good fullbolt on set up check out this guy's car.

it can run with stock pre 05 GT's. The only thing he has that you might not be able to do is his exhaust, because of the lack of cats.

k i wouldnt recommend gears if you wana do it yourself
second
why the hell would he want a driveshaft?

if i were you i'd look in to these options:

-Underdrive pulleys
-Full exhaust with long tube headers
-SCT Xcal 2 flasher/tuner...or a chip or tuner of your choice. the xcal2 is just my recommendation
Rims...
Lowering springs
and thats about it i'd say

gears are a very easy job to do man.
and the driveshaft frees up power

everything else i agree with.
i don't think rims add HP. ( i know stickers do though )

You just have to be patient. You just take it apart over and over again until you get the right wear pattern between the ring and pinion gears. The marking compound will tell you what you need to change to get it to work.

On my 1st 8.8 rebuild, it took me 4 tries until I got it. On the 2nd, it only took me 2 tries.

You really only learn it once you've done it. But, it's a huge step if you don't have any car repair experience.

u've opened up the intake, so open up the exhaust a little! headers and a cat-back exhaust system, or a gt take-off system

you must be smoking somthng seriouse because gears is not an "easy" job....it is a very tedious job....because you need to know which gear goes in first and so on....but i would not recommend doing it your self if your a first timer....and the drive shaft would not be that hard to do all you need to do is unhook the u-joints and pry it off and put a new one in and hook the u-joints back
