You have to get a new mid pipe, either a x or h. then any GT side exhaust kit will bolt up to it. Like the rousch or the steeda.

This is exactly what i did to use the steeda side exhaust. I bought a MAC H-pipe, and the exhaust and it bolts right up. Go for it!

I have a side exhaust made by Roush. The problem that I find with it it speed bumps. I have had issues with it almost getting ripped completely out. I also have spring overs that have lowered my ride 1.5" in the front and 0.8" in the back. Other then that you are going to need an X-Pipe or an H-pipe

I was thinking of doing side exhaust until I read some problems with the clearance. It would be horrible to spend all that money and hit a speed bump <which ARE everywhere these days> and have them rip out....love the look, but I'm not doin' it. So THANKS for posting up..saved my a ton of $$

It has great sound and performance, but the low clearance is a killer. Glad that I could be of assistance.

It would be cheaper to get a couple magnaflow mufflers and get a shop to make you one.
You have to be careful going over speed bumps, I have bottomed mine out a few times.

If my car didn't come with the side exh. already done, I would not have done it. I think I would have gone with a good 2.5" - 3" x-pipe into ford racing tips Just a personal pref. I like the look it gives. Not that I don't like the look of mine. Just don't like the pain of not being able to go over some speed bumps...

Green-

Actualy I haven't made it to the track yet. I know that before I deployed when I was first on here, back when you had your stang. We had talked about freaky fridays at the track. You may have seen it around Fayettnam....

*sigh* you don't need a mid pipe, but it is recommended, you can just true dual it ( meaning straight pipe) it sounds raspy at high rpms stock./ i'm waiting to throw toegther my s/c and stage 3 pak then i'll let you know about the new sound.
i've only ripped mine off in a sidewalk sewer drain since mine sticks out from the car about 2". i've also dropped my car over 2" and that was a big mistake with side exhuast and i would not recommend it. i'm already paying the "stupid tax" trying to fix half the problems.
anyways i've never ripped it on a bump it just bangs on it or scrapes ( you learn where to drive really quick)
anyways i think spine tech also makes a kit for side exhuast for our v6 mustang.

note.. i do recommend not lowering your stang past an inch if you want side exhuast. you have to fix body roll problems if the tips stick out like mine. you literally scrape on most things. and well it looks cool but a huge pain in the ass.
