u joint going out?

Hey guys recently i was sitting in my car at school with the ac on and i hear like a vibration from the rear end i get out because it sounds like somthing is rattling in the trunk and its pretty loud outside the car it sounds like somthing tensing up? i dunno how to explain it .. so i looked under the car today and i grabed the driveshaft and i can move it is this normall being able to move the drive shaft like twist it just an inch or so but it moves any ideas maybe i could get a vid later? __________________ full exhaust custom H pipe,cai, t-spacer, ud pulleys, 75 wet shot of nitrous, mach 1 rims, Xcal 2 custom tuned nitrous 87 93 octane VMP 9.1@80.07in the 1/8th mile

the differential isn't spinning either. maybe something before the driveshaft?

stephen Enthusiast Join Date: Feb 2007 Posts: 602	It's not from the driveshaft or differential since they are not moving. Could be from the engine, torque converter, or something touching in the exhaust. See if you can tell where the noise is coming from.

In your video nothings moving though, in order for sounding to be coming from the diff your wheels have to be turning. It has to be something else, like what was said above exhaust leak, a rattle or something has come loose. You really just have to pin point that noise.
