160° thermostat?

So I was lookin around at the auto parts store and saw a 160° tstat made by mr. Gasket for like 10 bucks. Would this be good for mys mustang? It says it fits ford. I live in the south and its always hot here.

Good idea? Bad idea?

keeps the engine at different operating temps by allowing the coolant to flow at a certain temp. 160 is way below the optimal operating temp for our cars.

Yea. I did a lot of reading up and the 160 is def too low. It can make our cars throw codes being that low can't it?

if your state has snow....180thermostat is still to low stick with 195
you willnot see any hp with a lower thermostat
not even .5
you might actually LOSE power because the car isnt operating at operating temps
