Painting upper intake...

I'm probably gonna get the intake spacer soon from VAP, and figured while I got the upper intake off, might as well paint it... since I plan on re-painting my cai anyway(got to de-rice it, lol)

Did a search and noticed a few people that have painted them... just wondering what kind of paint did any of you use? Just the basic rattle can duplicolor engine enamel? That's what I used for the cai... seemed to work fine...
Also any prep work... like sanding? I wouldn't think so... since the upper intake is a rough surface as it is

Sorry if this is in a wrong section btw... but the threads I found in the search were from this section... and I was mostly looking for input from the 6er section regulars that have done this

I'll be painting it black...
I rattle-canned the cai black, and going to re-paint it... figured might as well do it all...

just wanted to make sure the rattle-can was ok to use... or if it would turn out like crap...

i would suggest sanding it, but thats just for looks ... it wont do anything except take up time... now if you wanted to, while the intake was off you could port and polish it... just for fun

I don't really know how to P&P... or wanting to spend any more...cause idk how much something like that runs...

plus wouldn't I have to P&P both upper, lower, and spacer all together to get any gains out of it?

btw... just wondering... what kind of gains would I see if I did that... just out of curiosity
