'98 3.8 - Any ideas?

Hey fellas - Just recently bought a 98 mustang and I absolutely love this thing! While it is a v6, I still wouldn't mind a bit more bite when I punch the accelerator so I'm looking for some modding ideas. My budget isn't exactly huge (a few hundred to start with), but I do have a mechanic in the family who wouldn't mind doing me a few favors if necessary. Any ideas to start off with?

(oh, and it's a manual)

3.73 gears and t-lok
or depending on the few hundred

a SCT XCAL2 (flasher/tuner kind of a chip but not really but it adds power)-$380
$25 ebay CAI(cold air intake)

ya i agree, the 25 buck cold air intake, and i'd say go for the 3.73 gears if you can afford that. and if your mechanic in the family knows anything about porting heads, have him port your heads out for you.

Sounds good... I actually picked up one of AmericanMuscle's CAI kits a week or two back so that's taken care of. What kind of gains would I see from a dual exhaust, or are they primarily for show?

eh well if you just get the cat back..not much at all. tops like 5hp.
throw in a mid pipe and long tubes and 15-20hp with the cat back
