lowering springs problem!!help!!


ok soo i got some drop zone lowering springs today
i went home and took the whole front end apart ,
took stock springs out and placed the new ones in.
i took the car for a real quick drive around the corner,
the car felt kinda stiff and steering wheel felt real hard
went under the car to see what was wrong and it was leaking all the oil from the rack and pinion on the driver side only..i dont know why it happen??was it because the car was lowered or what made it break?can anyone help i?? will post better pics morrow.

heres a pic of how low my car is now with drop zone springs
also pic of part were its leaking oil()

yeah it was all together ...we double check for leaks and stuff like that ...it wasnt until i ran the car that it happened...my friends dad is a mechanic and he said it might be because the car was lowered and it changed the position of the stock rack and pinion but idk??

nope ...after we got done checking all the parts were in we got it off the jack turned it on and went for a quick ride but once i pulled out the drive way i head something leaking soo i got off and looked under and it was leaking...

here a pic of how it look(sorry for the bad cellphone picture)
i marked the area where the power sterring fluid was coming out from

I would take it out, and check the seals for any issues.

i don't think it would. Sure it's a possibility but I doubt it. All racks are goin to leak sometime in their lifetime. Yeah, yours isn't old at all, but they all go.

ok well thanks man i will see if i can replace it today since both of my cars are apart i dont have a way to get around to shops and stuff ..but ill will try to post more pics soon

did u put more power steering fluid in or something? could be too much pressure...inspect ur power steering stuff. then once u replace it turn the car on and turn the wheel slowly while someone is looking under there to see if anything is gettin squeezed anything wrong

well in about an hour we goining to start takin it apart and we will replace it and see how it goes from there

ok soo i went to AMP Performance and got a new rack and pinion..the guy there told me that lowering my car 2 inches affected my old rack and pinion

thats a low ass drop you probably blew a strut and bottomed out (hard steering) which put to much pressure on that boot, causeing the rack to fail get better struts or its gonna do it again
