Question about exhaust setup

Question about exhaust setup

Ok. So i still dont have my mustang yet but i will very soon so i kinda wanna get this all figured out so that when i do get it i can know what to buy. Im thinking about getting mac Lt's and mac o/r h pipe. I also want to get some flowmaster 40's mufflers. So my questions are...
1. If i want to buy a flowmaster catback system with the 40's do i get the one that says its for the GT? (The one for the v6 has a y-pipe and i dont really want that).
2. Everyone seems to really like the original 40's but i dont think they make those anymore or al least i couldnt find them anywhere. Are the super 40's just as good or better?

yes, get one for the GT mustang of w.e year you get...

and super 40s are about the same... from what i understand... don't know to many people with them though

you can get them from some exhaust shops... flowmaster still sells them to shops, but not publicly... from what my exhaust shop told me. I'm down for custom exhaust set ups though, i paid $475 for my long tubes back with flow 40s. it was all installed, no hassle no BS and they did a great job.

look into that option too, if you can afford it. price might be a concern for you, i do not know

ok i'll look into it. I make 7.25 per hour baggin groceries so i dunno.

i saved for 3 months before i could afford to even look at exhaust systems... my LTs sat in my garage for a month waiting for me to get the money to have the rest of the system installed

a custom exhaust shop set up will be your best best IMO the super 40s get a little raspier up top

I have the setup u want. I love how it sounds but if i were to do it again i would have not got the lt's and got my gears and tlock put it and a tuner. now i got gears and t lock sitting in my garage and there probly gonna be sitting there for a while. Lt's-300-330 if you have them installed at a shop since there hard as hell to put in on the passenger side it takes a while so install aroud 300 cant remeber exactly. Plus the O2 sensors and Mil eliminators thats like another 100. So then u have to get the shorty h pipe which was 150 and then the flowmaster catback. I would just go with a mid pipe and the catback and get gears and t lock and tuner.

if he is gonna get exhaust LTs need to be done at the same time. They really open the car and will help him a lot, tuner is a great idea and so are gears and t-lok but on the budget he is stating header back exhaust is going to be the best bang for the buck

yea, if your getting any h or x pipe, you HAVE to buy gt catback, which isnt really a bad thing cause there are a couple more brands offered for gts. just dont get one with like 3 inch piping

the install isn't hard at all, especially on the passenger side, thats the easier of the two... as there is more room

with the driver side you just gotta keep jacking the car up into the air until you have the angle you need...

took me a week worth of evenings to do this all in ... but it got done
