I need exhaust tips for my '06 V6

Hello, everyone.

Allow me to introduce myself... my name's Victoria, and this is my first time posting on these forums. In September of 2005, my parents helped me get a tungsten grey 2006 Mustang V6 with the Pony Package. I love cars to death, but I'll be upfront... I'm not all that knowledgeable when it comes to modifications. I love my Mustang... its fast, dependable, and it peforms beautifully. I've not had any problems with it whatsoever.

The one thing I'm not fully happy with is the exhaust. While it's far from quiet, the sound is just not as loud as I'd like it to be. I'd like something that will amplify the sound and perhaps make the car sound more aggressive. I'm hoping not to spend more than $200 or so. Any suggestions on how to go about this would be most appreciated. =)

so tips arent what you need. do these things have dual exhaust? For two hundred you could get a muffler or two depending if this thing is dual. IF it is in fact dual, get a midpipe too....headers are out of your price range. If you want to make it LOUD. get some magnapacks and dump the exhaust...

sorry if i sound dumb about what stock exhaust you have, i am not familiar with your car....

in essence. get dual and then beef it up.

single exhuast btw.

anyways 200 $ won't go to far. it sounds like you want a new exhuast system. with 200$ you might be able to pick up a muffler and thats it. lots of guys will recommend saving up and spliting it to a dual exhuast system ( meaning two pipes not one coming out the back) anyways glad to hear your doing good with the new stang

welcome to MM? may i ask how old you are? i mean like working with exhaust if your young and the popo's spots you .. most likely you will get pulled over ..
and also yeah you wont really get far with 200 dollars with a 06 .. btw nice car and if you could save up a bit more to get a rougher mean sound outta your exhaust that be nice .. or if you just want the tip as you asked .. head over to the ford dealer buy the TIP itll be about 65 dollars flat .. hope that helped

What is this tip you speak of that the Ford dealer carries? Sounds interesting.

Welcome to the forums. Umm tips aren't going to do anything really but make you exhaust shiny. If you want a nice sound that isn't so loud the cops will be all over you just go to your local muffler shop and ask them to put dual exhaust on your car. It will probably run about 375-450, but that is cheaper than most of the kits out there, and getting a mid pipe and a cat back can get pretty pricey as well.

$200 wont get you the exhaust that will satisfy you
your options are
save..then get exhaust
or if you really want mods now
you can get a CAI off ebay $25 and UD pulleys for the car

I would also suggest to save up for a whole new system but if you really want it to be loud just cut off you're muffler

get Imco mufflers. they are pretty much a knock-off to Flowmaster, aka alot cheaper. i went with Magnaflow tips and i like them. tips are completly personal choice though. id recommend rolled tips though. and also, get something that wont rust.

well if you are stuck on getting the exhaust first, then for 200 bucks your best bet is probobly to have an exhaust shop cut out the stock muffler and re-weld in another muffler of your choice, of course still utilizing the factory pipes. Wont do much for performance but it might change the tone enough for you. wont sound like a GT though so dont get your hopes up.
