depending on how much money you'll have to spend heres a list

$2k budget
(if not going turbo)
long tubes
h pipe and full exhaust-$900-$1,000
SCT XCAL2-$380
CAI-$25
UD pulleys(if not goin s/c)-$130-200
9mm spark plug wires-$60-80

$5k
(if you have plans of nitrous or supercharger or turbo)
8.8 rear end-$500-$1,000
procharger-$4k
Turbo from tma-$3,000-$6,500(depending on twin turbo, single turbo, and options)
but forged internals would be a very good idea-about $1,000-$1,500
nitrous-$500-$800
OR IF YOU DONT WANT NITROUS OR A S/C OR TURBO
stroker kit-$3k
all your bolt ons-$2.5k-$3.5k
then heads and a cam roughly-about $1,500
you can through some nitrous on that like a 125 or 150 shot and run 12s with that set up or MAYBE high 11s not sure though..

$10k
bolt ons
8.8 rear
stroker kit
turbo
nitrous
fastest set up right there.

lol ok that one was funny
but it was a v8 dude! im telling u

anyway

best s/c kit to go for is Procharger, very good brand of s/c and makes a lot of power
if you get a s/c then:
http://www.moranav6racing.com/catego...?CategoryID=16
stroker kit would be a good idea or getting forged internals from there

then get yourself an 8.8 rear end and take out the 7.5 rear axle that you have and sell it or w/e

then you can put that procharger in there and expect about 400hp
long tubes, a mid pipe and cat back would make the s/c Breathe nice!
http://rpm-mustangs.com/cart/home.php?cat=305
will help you with that
and some 3.73 gears from ebay and rims of your choice (18x10.5 is a good size)

all this is under 10k and selling the 7.5 rear can get u some money
throw a 100shot nitrous though if you want. it'll really be nice at the track

rotfl...a 4.0 is a v6 buddy.....but if you want lots of hp go with a twin turbo since you can spend up to 20k on it that would be your best bet just email the guy at tma (http://www.tmaturbo.com/) and he will get you a very nice set up....but if your worried about turbo lag with a tt you have little if not any turbo lag

spools at 2500rpms and fully spooled at 3000rpms...so when racing you might have 3/4 asecond of lag in first gear only
i know...pimp eh!

I've been very happy with my PH turbo kit. It's a solid choice.

What exactly does five-speed automatic mean? My '06 4.0 has that particular transmission, but I wasn't sure if that was because I had the Pony Package on mine.

i read the spec on your car...
how well is your car running with the stock rear axle and it seems like you still have the stock internals...

I have a 2005 V6 mustang Vert, tricking it out.

Does any one have a source for an 8.8 rear end in the $300 - $800 price range that fits the 2005 V6?

I am going to put a set of 4.10s in it, the gear set cost is between$150 - $200..

Thanks

well thanks for answering my question but i'll answer yours

8.8 rear, full thing with brakes...you wont find for $300-$800 new...maybe a used one from a junkyard if they have one there.

also 4.10s is kinda steep for your set up. but installing is also $150-200

When I was running 12.4's, the car was running solid with a tlok, 3.73's, and a LPW girdle. I also had all of the V6 PH suspension parts on the car, along with their drive shaft.

Since then, I have had a built motor put in, with lower compression pistons, head studs, an 8.8 and some other items in preparation for next track season. I plan to run 16lbs of boos vs. the 10lbs of boost I was at on the 12.4 run.

The car runs great with the turbo, good gas mileage and runs fine as a daily driver.
