2 up & Down
When I drove a Jeep we used an isolation switch.
It had a 3-way elect. position, and a big red removal key. We could isolate which battery we were charging, or drawing off of, or we could draw from, or charge both at the same time. I think it would be better to place your second battery in the trunk. Please use a sealed plastic battery box for safety sake. Now you can go upwards of 1000 CCA and you can get a big truck battery that fits that bill. The best hot feed cable would be a welding cable. Just ground the Neutral to the body, or frame. You might want to invest in a better alternator. A "Mean Green" has an advertised 3 times the output of oem. There are many other alternators just as good. It would be best to choose one that fits the oem spot. Loki Last edited by Prankster; October 10th, 2008 at 01:10 AM. |
