Greatest Airflow Under The Car? Hlp Me

im installing a custom ram air tube to lead fresh air to my cold air induction. not a true ram air, just a CAI kit with a non-conected tube letting colder outside air hit my conical filter. i was just wondering if anyone knew wer the greatest amount of air flows under the body so i can position my scoop in the best posible place.

if you dont have fog lights put the scoops there take off the delete panel for the fog light holes, saw it on an el camino once. it was badass. the only problem is that you cant drive it in the rain unless you can find a way to still get the air forced in without getting watter in it.

that'll happen if your tryin to get air the way you are..just for another 5hp

its not worth but if you really really want it, i'd only use it for the track. but chrish91286 is right about that fog light spot

yeah but if made the intake tube come down behind the radiator then come to the holes for the fog lights that would be fucking sweet. like i said i caw this el camino with that setup and at idle it sounded like darth vader sucking air.................. seriously you should just fucking do that its sweet

Well, pretty much anywhere that isn't behind a tire would work. But, if you want the best flow, take advantage of dynamic pressure by routing something to pick up air from the front of the car, maybe by the bottom of the front bumper.

if you wanna go super ghetto and keep the water out I have seen cars with radiators under the car and the intake sucking air through there so that it is super cold.

dude... they make intakes that look like intercoolers... but those are for hondas...

i say get some flexible thin rubbery hose that is like 3" in diameters
i hope you know what im talkin about if not ill try and find somethin... but yea put it behind the fog light delet... and leave a gap ... so water doesn't get into the engine....

like that... thats is on a corvette... so ... i see it as acceptable for a stang

actually, overly flexible type hose like that with ridges in it creates turbulance and can hurt your power, im using a very fine ridged flexible aluminum dryer hose type thing that is like 5 inches in diameter or more. its not connected tot eh filter so i dont have to worry about water in the engine, its just to let colder air into the engine compartment near the cai.

dude the fog light cover only has 2 screws holding it in.

The idea would be interesting, but wouldn't be as beneficial as you may think unless if the tube is positioned in just the right spot. One idea to block water from comming in or going into your filter is to get if you don't already have one or keep the fenderwell cai that you already have. Have the tube match flush against the bumper with a gasket around the edge to the bumper, and have it angled up and then up to the filter with it notched out enough to fit flush against tha filter with yet another gasket around that edge to protect the filter.
