haha yeah i dunno i haven't had any problems without one. i'll grab you the write ups if you don't want to use a spring compress. but its a pain getting the spring back in. but i didn't take the caliper off either cause i'm pro like that.
only thing you might have to worry about it making sure you put the c/c on right. which ones did you get?

Need? No.

I've done several swaps on Foxes and New Edges, and never had a problem just disconnecting the strut and letting the A-arm down.

I'm not saying DON'T get one, but you don't NEED one.

no, you don't need one. two guys with 2 prybars. turn the spindle loose and one guy uses a prybar to pry down the a-arm and you use your prybar to pry the new spring into place. 10 minutes at topps. it's kiddie shit

Two jacks and common sense is all it takes. Let the jack down SLOW, and the spring will fall out like dead weight.

Yeah... in my experience a spring compressor made it more difficult by getting in the way. Do as they have said just lower the A arm all the way and use prybars, helps when you have an extra pair of hands.

no. i installed my C springs and sportlines without a spring compressor. and i installed my MM c/c plates without it either (3 separate install times...)

just put the car on jackstands under the frame rail up front. then preload the springs by jacking up the a-arm. then unbolt the retaining nut on the strut. then removed the 3 bolts/nuts holding the stock plate in place. now lower the jack, and you can compress the strut and pull it out of the fenderwell. now is a good time to replace the bumpstop and install spacers according to your application, reinstall the retaining nut after you bolt up the new plates and set your alignment... when you put load on the suspension, you can best tighten the retaining nut on the strut.

spring swap was about 15 minutes per corner. CC plates where about 1/5 hour job for me (removing the retaining nut is a bit of a bitch if you dont have a thick flathead screwdriver that wont bend/break
