I Want Opinions Guys, Tell Me What You Think


I just bought a auto '98 gt and all i kno so far is that it has a cold air intake. My friend has a 5- speed 2000 v6 with shorty headers, cai, and str8 pipes with flows. He is begging me to race. what do yall think i should do?

most will say you have the edge

but i personally think its a drivers race

those 96-98 GTs are FAR from impressive

well shorties---5hp..cai and exhaust- another 5-7hp

plus he has a 5speed which gives just a bit more edge

personally if it was my car the 2000v6...i'd race for money even. ive raced a 97 GT stock and from 40-115 it was DEAD even he might have had like a foot.

yea. i gotta admit it has power and potential. i think it would be close too. idk what mod i should do next tho

yea. it has the stock h pipe. guess ill go with a off road h pipe.

As a v6 lover i hate to say it but youll take him...to me his only advantage is his car being manuel

i say get heads just because those heads SUCK

but exhaust with long tubes is good, nice sound thats for sure

4.10s or 3.90s are good too
but if i had that car after those mods i just listed heads would be on that list VERY SOON

even if u wanted get a small turbocharger or supercharger.... but thats only if u wanted to put some cash into it. but if you got that.... ud smoke his ass no question

Have your stock heads ported and polished...Get a set of cams for them and you will be better off then going with the PI Swap...Long tube headers, nice mid-pipe, nice catback...4.10 Gears and you are good to go...You should see around 290 rwhp or more with that combo...Then do the rest of the bolt-ons and you will be at 300rwhp I would say...

not true about the manual...a auto can be much faster than a manual...all you got to do is put a shift kit and tune it and it will be more consistant....and in a manual you have more of a margin for error
