3.73 gears , high flow cat , best hp chip

What will 3.73 gears do for my stock 2000 v6? Can I put them in a stock rear axel without further mods? Are there gears that make both wheels spin, if so what brand? Is this a high $$ mod? And what is the benefit.

Also

High flow cat. Can I just cut the cat out completely and just replase with a straight pipe? I have a Flowmaster on the back. Will i get more horses or will i throw a code and foul up the engine?

Also

Want a simple chip in chip out that will give me some gains. I heard Jet has one for the V6.

Thank You.

gears= better acceleration.
gut the cats= code unless you have mil eliminators or a hand held tuner
won't need the chip because you need the tuner to turn off your O2 sensors. simple isn't it!

faster acceleration

yes, but not likely you can't do it, take it to a shop

Search T-Lock, u'll need one as well as the gears
Is this a high $$ mod?
Depends on what you say high $$ mod is. In my opinion worth the money.
And what is the benefit.
Faster acceleration, better traction, and no more one wheel peels

Yes, look into your emmissions laws first, search Offroad Pipes for direct bolt up pipes without cats

Free up a little horsepower but definitely need a tuner to turn off the O2 codes

Dont do chip, search handheld tuners sct is a popular brand
Thank You.
My answers in red obviously

3.73s are fine... unless you have an auto... then i would suggest considering 4.10s

get a T-lok at the same time

get a tuner to compensate for the missing cats and the desire for small performance gains. unless your state does emission test at which point you cannot have a vehicle that doesn't have catalytic converters

Could someone explain to me why everyone says to use 4.10s with an auto? I just want to know bc I put 3.73s in my auto. All the garages around me said to go with 3.73s bc the 4.10s were to steep for an auto. I know it may have something to do with personal preference, but is there a mechanical reason for this?

the 4.10s will give u better acceleration than the 3.73s. the manuals would be recommended the 4.10s but the gear is too quick to really have them, so its better to have the 3.73s for the manuals. since u dont have to shift an auot the 4.10s are the best bet unless ur running boost

i mean in reality the 3.73s are fine. u will still have better acceleration as im sure u've noticed so either way its a win win, just most of the time autos go for the 4.10s unless u are driving highway majority of the time

I do drive about 120 miles a day for work and my gas milage is still pretty darn good with them, so I have no complaints
