windstar split port swap or port and polish

Ok for all the guru's. I've been looking into either getting my 3.8split port port and polished or just getting the windstar kit and swapping it into my lil pony. But of course not finding what I was looking for I've come to you guys for the answers. First which has better gains? If the windstar intake was alluminum I would get it and have it port and polished but seeing as that's out of the question I guess we'll throw out the possibility entirely. Now I would assume that the winstar being a composite would benefit from being lighter as well as having better engineering behind it with longer runner's and such, also it would seem to be pretty smooth to almost being similar to what you would get from a port and polish... maybe but not sure on that one completely... Ok so if I swapped in a windstar splitport, so far I reasoned that I would get gain with lighter weight than the port and polished mustang split port, a better design compared to the mustang split port, and would be even with the port and polished mustang split port of course that is if they do infact have a similar smoothness internally. Am I wrong can someone give me exactly what would be better?

the most ideal V6 intake would be a cut-n-weld ported and polished f-150 intake manifold
its designed similar to the windstar only aluminum. which means it can be ported

so by the f-150 intake being similar to the windstar intake, do you mean it would get me the same results as the windstar intake, and then getting it even better than the windstar intake after being port and polished? Oh and is there any way to get a kit like the winstar swap has.

if you knew about V6s the windstar intake is far more suprior over stock intake manifold
its worth 15rwtq and 8rwhp on a STOCK motor stock exhaust
with an intake and exhaust gains will get much better

I sell a kit for the windstar swaps. i'll probably stop once i get the kit i have here off my hands

the f150 intake is similar only aluminum so its able to be ported and polished unlike the plastic windstar intake

Couldn't someone take a ported and polished intake manifold and make a sand mold to cast a better manifold? Might be a good option for some small business to display some innovation. It seems to me that your better off with something derived from the Mustang manifold, since it avoids a number of problems with fitting in a Windstar manifold. It would also seem that Ford might be interested in the part to get improved power.

that would be and idea but by the time the work is done a sheet metal intake will be a much better flowing intake

im debating about finding a CNC shop and getting a custom sheet metal upper done. it would depend on cost though vs the competitions cost

no, because theres some parts you just cant reach while you port its to deep or there is a bend. it would take a while to port
i'd imagine easily $700 from most V6 vendors for such an intake
since the cut-n-weld stock upper runs $600 and has much shorter runners

the f150 has longer runners which would give you more torque while also flowing better so you'll still get good hp gains. ported and polished would be even more hp gains

Ok thanks Chris. I'm leaning towards the Windstar intake still though even though it won't net as much HP I still like the looks much better. And it's cheaper. But none the less awesome info.
