And chris, I'm sure you get this alot, but what would the average cost of all that, along with things such as an aluminum drive shaft, come up to? And what kind of power could you potentially see?

Not enough for it to be worth the money?
Its a 4.3 not a 347 stroker...

My entire ported heads cam project cost me...
erra... with gaskets and junk... maybe 500$?

But its gonna cost you anywhere 1000 on up...

Oh cam won't kill your gas mileage ... this is 2008 we have these amazing things called tuners, and programmers... However with your foot on the gas, or idling the car for 30min in a parking lot will make it seem like you get 8.5mpg!!

If you get it on RPM its like $350-400 for a regrind with springs and push rods and shims

the aluminum driveshafts are like $200

Sounds good man. I would like to be able to have a solid, well built engine, that makes decent power for the street, then when I take it out to the track, be able to spray upwards of a 150-200 shot with no worries.

You realize thats going to be more expensive than just boosting right?

Yes that would cost more than boost. . . . and i dont see you running a anything upwards of a 125 shot without forged internals. and you have to remember nitrous is not a one time cost that stuff is gonna cost anywhere from $3-$5 a lb. over a years time thats alot of money. . . . .

To run a 125 shot...

Your gonna need a forged bottom end, 8.8, your trans may or maynot hold up to that.. of course you'll need the nitrous kit & accessories, and tuning.

You can run 10# of boost on a tlok and stock bottom end.

SSMS did a 200shot on a high compression motor and lifted heads no matter what
i think if you went with a 10:1 or 9:39:1(stock) and a 150shot you'd do plenty fine and get in the 11s with out serious weight reduction or serious drag suspension setups

a 200shot and 9:3:1 compression MIGHT be possible with some nicely torque'd down heads of course on ARP head studs
IMO i'd actually torque it to about 115ft lbs which Delk are really the only guys that torque that tight SSMs and RPM torque to 105-110max

if Delk pushed 30psi through the motor and didnt lift the head
im sure a 200shot is possible

i also believe a 125shot and race fuel is possible on a stock bottom
with ARP head studs and h/c/i VERY possible IMO

I would be way more worried about my pistons and RODS with a 125 shot than I would be about lifting a head.
