what speed does the gear change?

I know this may sound dumb, but I am just wondering at the proper time (speedometer reading) the gears are suppose to change in an 97 Automatic.

I think it is missing a change into 4th gear maybe...

or... at what speed should the last gear change be at?

depends on how much you gas it.

your auto should shift around 5500-6k and you should end up around 4k-4500 and then back up

it shifts once it hits like 2000 and then back to like 1500 and then when it feels like it should shift ones more, it doesnt and keeps going past 2000 rpms

uhhhh wut? lol

its called overdrive. its not going to go through all 4 gears when you accelerate to like 45 or so unless you got your foot to the floor. from a stop it will go through 1 and 2, after you get to speed it will go right to 4th. it also shouldn't engage at speed below 35. so from stop it will go 1 and 2, then shift to 3 at 20-35ish

hit the OD button on the shift knob and it wont even engage the 4th gear unless you bring your rpms to 4.5k+ then OD turns back on automatically so you dont blow your car up.

someone correct me if im wrong...but im pretty sure i answered the question....
