They said the reason it would cost that much is because they would have to heat the metal and bend it inward a little bit and then realign the tips. I'm gonna ask whiteboy i he knows any places around here.

wow that will take little to no effort to re align. maybe a little bit of heating, but not 60$ worth or 3 hours of labor. you will need new hangers and a little bit of finessing it to be perfect. take it somewhere else. i bet it could be done in less than 30mins.

nah man I wouldnt go back there they will just rehang the pipes they dont need to heat they only do that if its like over 4 in off

you could ask the shop to pay for "time spent" instead of a quote. but then you have to watch them because they guy could tell his mechanic to work real slow and be a prick.

In that picture, I can kinda see what the guy was saying. To have the top come straight out the back, he might need to bend the pipe coming back to the tip in order to keep the tip straight on the pipe.

Maybe?

no that thing hanging down not connected by the way is the hanger he heats the put bends it around the pipe to where it is holding it straight and tack welds it. your shop is a joke

just lift the tips with a jack/support of some sort and reweld new hangers. all of 5 bucks in parts an two seconds of a welder per tip

Again AB, my thoughts, but alass, I cant weld. Heck, going into the shop, I thought maybe this would be one of those things they could do in 5 min and would just say dont worry about it, haha.

you should go to a mom and pops shop. find a local, gravel pit/sandlot parking lot welding or muffler shop. they will charge much less for this

yeah go to a family owned or little rinkydink shop mine in my home town charges me 5 bucks for most work they do cause im in there all the time

Im sorry to hear that dude. I got my chrome tips and put on for 60. They had to realign my right one and they had to reheat it and get a new hanger. Didnt charge me.
