you are 80% wrong. the 20% you have right is that you dont get it.

stock, the 2000 v6 mustang comes with cast iron manifolds. a short tube header will have 3 separate primaries (1 for each exhaust port) that merge into one at a collector pipe close to the engine. the primaries are short in length - hence short tube headers. these flow better over the stock manifolds, but long tube headers flow more and can support more flow overall, thus are a better option for a supercharged motor or a motor with more air flow.

i run mac long tube headers on my car. the power is mostly found by moving the powerband up higher in the rpm's and increasing it as well.

for power and sound:

manifolds < short tube headers < long tube headers

Basically you should only get shorty headers if you plan to go turbo so you can flip it like the 5.0 guys do. Otherwise LT's flow better and allow more flow thus making more power

thas wrong, if u were building a turbo then u could possibly use the short tube headers. in any other instance you need longtubes, even with a supercharger

a supercharger will have nothing to do with ur headers. turbo is what runs off the exhaust
