Boring does increase power, but it is done by literally reboring the cyl. in the block to increase it's diameter. Most of the time this is done when building a high performance engine from an already used one. By boring the block out it is made to act like it is "new," but with a bit of increased displacement. Im willing to bet that most of the "stroker" engines you can by have also been bored since most, like th 4.3L ssm stroker, are made from used street engines.

... okay and any idea what the compression ratio might be... and if it will work for a super charger or will the compression have to be re figured
